American Coyote was created at the request of
wildlife educators and advocates nationwide—
including Project Coyote—for use as a
neighborhood outreach and education tool.
It is a shortened half-hour version of San
Francisco—Still Wild At Heart, a one-hour urban
wildlife film. American Coyote focuses solely on
coyotes—the expansion of their populations
across the continent and the possible reasons
behind that expansion, the impact of coyotes on
our ecosystems, and the ways in which we can
coexist with them safely.
American Coyote continues to be screened in an expanding number of community education and outreach gatherings around the country and in Canada. It was also featured in
Australia’s “Minding Animals,” an international conference on animal protection.
